Helping local people cope with the snow!

While the country stopped, Storrington Round Table helped villagers keep going

Snow days are a good opportunity to enjoy some valuable time with the family, but some people need more help than others at times like this.

Round Table got out there, helped pull cars out when they got stuck, picked up milk and bread for those that could not get out, and generally provided a lifeline to people.

Working with the churches, Age Concern and other organisations in Storrington and the local area, we were able to quickly identify at least some of those that were more vulnerable.  We also put out a plea on Spirit Fm for people to contact Roundtable.  Pulling cars out of the snow became a big part of the help we gave to Storrington folk to help them keep going and keep working.

So....just give a thought to others when the snow falls.  Making snowmen, and sledging is great, but others struggle.
