Round Table Children's Wish logo

Round Table Children’s Wish has made the dreams of more than 1,300 children with life-threatenting illnesses come true. None of this would have been possible without the support of Round Table clubs around the country.

Round Table Children’s Wish was started 21 years ago by members of Round Table.  In 2012 Round Table are supporting Round Table Children's Wish.

Imagine having a child in your family who has a life-threatening illness and the effect it would have on everyone – it would be overwhelming…

Our aim at Round Table Children’s Wish is to try and bring a little magic into the lives of these special children and their families at a time when their future is uncertain.  Children between the ages of 4-17 can be referred to us to either: have, meet, do or go somewhere special and the wishes granted are truly that of the child.  Sometimes they are as simple as being a zookeeper for a day or having a wendy house for the garden, others are a little more difficult to arrange such as meet and greets with celebrities but the wish always happens and the children always have a wonderful time.  See our website www.rtcw.org

WORKING WITH YOUR HELP TO GRANT WISHES FOR CHILDREN WITH LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESSES THROUGHOUT GREAT BRITAIN & IRELAND...FOR 21 YEARS

Joshua aged 7 has cancer of the kidneys. Being a huge Lego fan, his wish was one of our simplest, to have the new Death Star Lego pack.  So after speaking to mum we arranged that a few more Indiana Jones packs were delivered at the same time … just to keep him busy while he was undergoing treatment.

Samantha aged 10 is currently being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and like all the children, hates the long days in hospital. When she wished for an iPad it was sent through to mum and dad who took it straight into hospital where she started using it straight away.  The glossy red cover it came in just made it even more exciting and she now feels like she isn’t missing things as she is in touch with all her friend.

Events

This year is a perfect opportunity to achieve something very special.

We always have various events going on around the country, details of which can be found on the website but  in October we have a national event involving ALL Round Table Members.  The aim is that collectively we travel 24,901.55 miles and try to raise enough money to grant 100 wishes – having a lot of fun in the process of course!

Here are a few details:

NATIONAL EVENT 1ST - 15TH OCTOBER 2011
COLLECTIVELY TRAVELLING 24,901.55 MILES AROUND THE WORLD

All you need to do is:

  • Travel 10 miles per person
  • Raise £50 in sponsorship per person
  • And together we could grant up to 100 wishes!
  • Registration open. Click here to register
  • Contact julie@rtcw.org for more information

So… If every Round Table Members travels at least 10 miles during those 2 weeks – any way they want to – and raises just £50 min. then together we can grant 100 wishes and more.  That would be unbelievable and what a year to remember!

Registration for this great event is now open so please start planning and contact Julie Julie@rtcw.org if you would like more information.
